Short CV: Dr. Nicholas Ampazis holds a BEng (Hons) degree in Electrical and Elecronic Engineering from the Department of Electrical Engineering, Imperial College London, a MSc degree (with distinction) in Information Processing and Neural Networks from the Department of Mathematics, King’s College London, and a PhD degree (with distinction) from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). During his graduate studies leading to the doctorate Dr. Ampazis was a scholar at the Institute of Informatics and Telecommunications, National Center for Scienftic Research “Demokritos”. In September 2005 he was appointed as Assistant Professor of Computer Science at the Department Financial and Management Engineering, University of the Aegean, and in June 2009 received tenure for this position. In September 2014 Dr. Ampazis was elected as Associate Professor of Computer Science at the same department. His research interests include the theoretical study of computational intelligence and machine learning algorithms and their application in data mining, recommender systems, information retrieval, production systems, supply chain management and diagnostic medicine.
Short CV: Theodoros Emmanouilidis is a graduate of the Department of Physics, University of Patras. He holds a MSc in Financial Engineering from the Department of Financial and Management Engineering, University of the Aegean. His MSc thesis was the design and implementation of a Structured Mesh Wireless Municipal Network covering the Municipality of Hersonissos, Heraklion, Crete. His doctoral research focuses on High-Performance Computing.
Short CV: Flwra Sakketou graduated with honors from the Department of Financial and Management Engineering, University of the Aegean. She is a scholar of the State Scholarships Foundation (IKY) for completing her doctoral thesis on Deep Learning for Natural Language Processing.
